Focus on Your Self – Chateau du Pommoy, Morvan (France)
Press Pause and listen to yourself — you will be moved
Consider one of your typical days. Do you find that you’re ahead of yourself in your thoughts? Do you sometimes feel like your feet lose contact with the ground? Do you catch yourself chasing after your thoughts or thinking the same thoughts over and over without resolution? This is understandable — so many things require our attention these days: work, family, the difficult and the nice things in our lives. It can be so easy to forget to take care of our selves. And yet:
How would it feel to have more calmness in your life? A better sight of the overall big picture? To replace a racing mind with one that has more focus and a clearer set of goals? To get to know your boundaries and learn how to maintain them? To make more conscious choices?
Or perhaps you’re just curious what a full week of paying attention to yourself can bring you.
Join us this summer for Focus on Your Self, a week of joyful explorations that will reconnect you to your essential self in the Morvan, France — a quiet part of the world where space and calmness are still a natural part of life.
The course will be guided by Josée Boijens, experienced trainer, coach and passionate lover of undisturbed France. Ingredients for a week full of attention for yourself are: mindfulness explorations, moving with awareness (easily accessible, yoga-based exercises) and recharging your batteries in nature (featuring silent walks in an inspiring location). You will experience being present with the other and yourself in communication. You will learn to cope mindfully with stress and make conscious choices instead of acting from autopilot. And will learn how to integrate your experiences and insights back into daily life back home. Josée is a certified mindfulness trainer and coach who loves to create tailor-made programs.
Do you need to have experience?
Experience with mindfulness, meditation or yoga isn’t required, but being curious about yourself is essential. And if you are already familiar with yoga, mindfulness or meditation, this week will offer you the opportunity to deepen your experience and bring you new insights.
What will the week look like?
On Sunday evening you will get to know your fellow participants and the trainer. From Monday to Friday we will offer you a morning program between 9.30-12.30. Two activities in the afternoon are included: a walk in the splendid nature around the château and a visit to a peaceful historical site nearby. 45 minutes of individual coaching is offered optionally. You will have ample time to relax inside and around the château, to let the course sink in or to explore the area. And we will enjoy mindfully cooked meals!
We will alternate moments of stillness with playful, creative exercises and interaction. The peaceful and comfortable château will offer us literally and metaphorically a pause to breath, a space to slow down and expand our horizons. What do you bring?
Comfortable clothes in layers, walking boots, and if you want: your own meditation cushion or knee chair. We will provide yoga mats and a course manual.
